One way to lower the stress involved with building a home is to have realistic expectations. Let's look at a few items that can help you through the building process.
- Understand Your Contract - The contract spells out in detail what is included in your home. If you do not understand an item in your contract, or do not see something in it that you thought was included, please ask earlier rather than later.
- Work Within Your Budget - With the multitude of products that are available today, it is very easy to blow your budget.
- Make Selections on Time - This is very important in order to keep the job running smoothly. Some items can take 6 to 8 weeks to be delivered and for that reason selections must be made well in advance.
- Expect the Unexpected - Invariably, due to weather, job overruns, illness, availability of materials, automobile problems, etc., etc., etc., schedules must be adjusted and readjusted. This means that on some days no one will be able to work on your home. This does not mean your home will sit for 2 or 3 weeks with no work being done.
- Be Patient - In contrast to buying a completed product, such as an automobile or dinner at a restaurant, during the construction of your home you are able to see any mistakes that occur and how they are fixed. Our homes are built by people with man made goods and mistakes do occur from time to time, but regardless of the size or number, they will be corrected at the proper time.

The homes we build are custom homes. Many items are special ordered and built for your home only, not stock material out of a warehouse. You may see other homes built more quickly than yours, but you will not see better quality built faster.
