1. What do I do first if I want to build a home?
First, you need to get approved for a mortgage and decide how much you want to spend on your new home. We work with both mortgage companies and banks and can usually have a pre-approval for you within 48 hours of filling out a short form we have here at our office. We can even fax or email the form to you. We are also happy to work with any bank or mortgage company you choose.
Next, you need to select a house plan and location for building so we can give you an estimate of what the house will cost to make sure it is compatible with your financing arrangements.
2. How much money do I have to put down?
This will vary greatly depending on the type of loan you choose. We do have loans available with no money down for those who qualify.
3. How long does it take to build a house?
It will depend on the size and the amount of custom work that is included in the home. On average, it takes about three to four months.
4. I found a plan that I like but I want to change something. Can this be done?
Yes, we can make changes to any plans. Some will incur additional costs if plans have to be completely redrawn.
5. Can I look through a home you currently have under construction?
Yes, we are very proud of our work and we encourage you to look through any of our homes at your convenience. However, if the flooring has been installed, we do ask that you remove any muddy or dirty shoes before entering the home.
6. Can you give me a list of references of homes you have built?
Yes, we will be happy to provide you with a list of references. Please contact our office.
7. What do you do to improve energy efficiency in your homes?
There are several options available which will improve the energy efficiency of your home. Some of these include radiant barrier decking, thermally broken insulated windows, blown rockwool insulation, programmable thermostats, and many more. We will be happy to discuss the different options with you.
8. There are so many decisions to make. Can you help?
Yes, we offer design assistance to all our customers. From the selection of the exterior elements to the interior floor coverings, we are here to help you.
