Kaufman ISD has been designated by the State of Texas as a "recognized" school district and both the High School and Lucille Nash Intermediate have attained "exemplary" status. KISD is proud of its record for academic excellence.
Total enrollment for the district is approximately 3300 students. The district is made up of 7 campuses, including the state of the art Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center which just opened in the fall of 2003.
